1. Who We Are

Professor H1 (trading as professorh1.ie) is a Leaving Certificate AI tutoring service operated by an individual sole trader based in Ireland. We are subject to Irish and EU data protection law including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. What Data We Collect

Account data: When you register, we collect your email address and a hashed (encrypted) password. We never store your password in plain text.

Usage data: We record which subjects you study and how many questions you ask, to enforce free-plan limits and improve the service.

Your questions and uploads: The text you type and any screenshots you upload are sent to our AI provider to generate your answer (see section 4).

Payment data: Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. We receive only a confirmation that payment was made.

Enquiries and reviews: If you use the grinds booking or review forms, we collect the name, email address and message you submit. These are received through Formspree.

Analytics data: Only if you click Accept on the cookie banner, Google Analytics collects information about how you use the site, such as pages viewed, device type and approximate location.

Device data: We may collect basic technical information (browser type, device type) for security and to improve the mobile experience.

3. How We Use Your Data and Why

We use your data to provide the service, manage your account and subscription, and apply plan limits. We do this because we need to in order to carry out our contract with you.

We also use it to keep the service secure and prevent abuse, which is in our legitimate interests, and to comply with legal obligations such as keeping tax records.

We send service emails (account confirmation, password reset) as part of running your account. We send study tips, exam reminders and updates only if you ticked the optional box at signup, and you can unsubscribe at any time. We use analytics only if you accept cookies.

We do not use your data for advertising and we do not sell it to anyone.

4. AI-Generated Content

Professor H1 is an AI tutor, not a human. The questions you type and the screenshots you upload are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate answers. Please do not include personal information (such as your name, school or address) in questions or screenshots. Anthropic processes this data under its own terms and privacy policy.

5. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Essential: We store your login session in your browser so you stay signed in. The site cannot work without this, so it does not need your consent.

Analytics (optional): Google Analytics cookies are set only if you click Accept on the cookie banner. If you click Decline, no analytics cookies are set. You can change your choice at any time: change cookie choice.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

7. International Transfers

Some of our providers (including Anthropic, Vercel, Google and Formspree) process data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where that happens, the transfer relies on a recognised safeguard such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

8. Your Rights Under GDPR

You have the right to: access the data we hold about you; correct inaccurate data; delete your account and data; export your data in a portable format; restrict or object to how we use it; and withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@mrh1.ie.

9. Third-Party Services

We use Supabase (database and authentication), Stripe (payments), Anthropic (AI), Vercel (hosting), Formspree (contact and booking forms) and, only with your consent, Google Analytics. Each has its own privacy policy.

10. Children

Professor H1 is built for Leaving Certificate students. You must be 16 or over, or have the permission of your parent or guardian, to create an account. If you think someone under 16 has signed up without permission, email hello@mrh1.ie and we will delete the account.

Professor H1 (professorh1.ie) provides an AI-powered Leaving Certificate study tool. Answers are generated by artificial intelligence and are intended as study aids only. They do not constitute official SEC guidance and should not be treated as guaranteed exam answers.

2. AI Disclaimer

You are using an AI system, not a human tutor. We use SEC past papers and marking schemes as reference material, but Professor H1 is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the State Examinations Commission. AI can make mistakes, so please check important information against your textbook, your teacher or official SEC materials. We do not guarantee that any answer is correct or will earn a particular mark.

If you or your parent or guardian see an answer that seems wrong, inappropriate, or concerning, use the "Report a problem with this answer" link under any answer, or email hello@mrh1.ie. We read every report and act on it.

3. Accounts

You must provide a valid email address to create an account, and you must be 16 or over, or have the permission of a parent or guardian. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. One account per person — sharing accounts is not permitted.

4. Plans and Payments

Free plan: 3 questions per week across all subjects.

Monthly plan (€12/month): Billed monthly, cancel anytime. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

Annual plan (€88): One payment that covers the school year, October through June.

All prices include VAT where applicable. Payments are processed securely by Stripe.

5. Right to Cancel (14 Days)

If you buy a plan online, you have 14 days from the day you buy to cancel and get a refund. When you buy, you ask us to start your access straight away. If you cancel within those 14 days after using the service, we will keep a proportionate amount for the access you have had up to the point you told us you were cancelling, and refund the rest. To cancel, email hello@mrh1.ie. This does not affect your other legal rights.

6. Acceptable Use

You may not use Professor H1 to generate content for commercial resale, attempt to reverse-engineer the service, share your account with others, or use the service in any way that violates Irish or EU law.

7. Intellectual Property

The Professor H1 platform, branding, and system design are the property of the operator.

Past paper and marking scheme content is sourced from the State Examinations Commission (examinations.ie). Where the SEC is the sole author, this material is Irish Public Sector Information licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) licence, and we attribute it accordingly. Some exam papers include material a third party holds copyright in (for example a poem or prose extract used in a comprehension question) — the SEC's own right to include that material in an exam does not automatically extend to anyone reusing it afterwards, and this is an area we keep under review.

8. Limitation of Liability

Professor H1 is provided as an educational aid. To the extent the law allows, we accept no liability for exam results, academic outcomes, or decisions made based on AI-generated content, and our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 30 days preceding any claim. Nothing in these Terms limits your rights as a consumer under Irish or EU law, or any liability that cannot legally be limited, such as for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users by email of any material changes. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the Irish courts. This does not affect any mandatory rights you have as a consumer.
